Highlights of 2012 I-Ching Conference in Singapore

The 2 days was well spent in helping to promote the study of Traditional I-Ching. Here many Master of their Respective field was here to present their research and share their experience with all of us. In fact, I found that there are so many things to learn from them but most of all is the philosophy of life and the rich experiences they bring along.

No books can ever teach you the experiences they have gather over the many years being a “人”.

You can also feel the strong atmosphere of cooperation where they do no call themselves San He or San Yuan but collectively under the auspicious of I-Ching Study. The Tao of Respect is prevailing at all times.

Many interesting topics were presented but the one that was very interesting was the Feng Shui Lo Pan by Master Stephen Skinner, the only westerner in a Chinese speaking Conference, 2 Face reading by both Master Chen, The corelation between Maths and I Ching, San He 8 killing methods, Talisman method, Feng Shui Case Study of 2 factories in China and of course San Yuan QMDJ.

The next conference will be in China, Yan Bian a beautiful place overlooking 3 countries. See you there!

Feng Shui Questions Answered 01

Question:

Two years I have ask a feng shui master to do an audit for my house and read my personal life.  I was born in May 01, 1977.
He told me, my best facing direction is S, N, SW, NE. However, I went to few feng shui store n read few book from different author n discover that my best facing  direction is NE, SW, W, NW. I very confuse right now cause I’m in the middle looking for open my second store and trying to finding the facing direction that’s match my personal facing direction.  Can you please clarify this for me.  Your help is really appreciated.

———————————————————————————————————————

My Answer :

Here we have to first understand the methodology he uses before we can say for sure. If we see it from the 8 Mansion Feng Shui point of view, you belong to Ming Gua 2 (I have assumed that you are Male), then your favourable directions are NE, SW, W, NW because you belong to the West Group People.

But you have said that he told you S, N, SW,NE which is a little confusing. I hope it is not typo error. If he was using 8 Mansions system, then the East Group People would have their favourable directions as N,S,SE,E.

8 Mansion school is not a real full fledged Feng Shui system but nonetheless a popular, easy one to perform and learn. Still there are many variations of 8 Mansion practice. Some uses the House Gua to perform the Feng Shui while others uses Ming Gua.

However, you will have to know exactly what method or branch of Feng Shui School he is from before we can comment. Otherwise it is not possible for me to comment as each system has their own rules and ways. Perhaps there could be more than 1 system that he had used. New age thinking: The more the better, cover all bases.!

From the San Yuan point of view, facing & sitting of the property is more important. Ming Gua of a person has, of course a consideration to the Feng Shui of the property. Also not forgetting our environment which does has a significance to the strength of the Feng Shui.

Feng Shui Questions Answered

I have been collecting questions from viewers in the poll that I have posted some time back and this is one of them which I will answer…

Question:

For your example, from the master plan, there are some sectors where the houses will enjoy better feng shui than others within the same development.

Which is a better sector that enjoy better fengshui than others?

How do we know which will be better in getting better Qi?.

———————————————————————————————————————————————–

My Answer:

Which sector or which row of houses within the development that will enjoy better feng shui is very much dependable on several factors.

First, we need to measure because each house has different measurement. Yes you hear me right. Opposed to conventional thinking that the same row of houses will have same direction is certainly not true. So first we need to measure to know for sure what is the Qi prevailing in each houses. What Qi is prevailing, we will have to know the Flying Star Chart. There is no short cut but to measure the house.

Secondly, the landforms surrounding the houses is different for each house. E.g. a junction could be facing 1 or 2 houses but the rest of the houses will not be subjected to this. I again re-iterate here that junctions are not necessary bad. Another way of saying is also the location of mountains, water and other factors are also different relatively to each houses. You can see the illustration below. The blue spot is at different locations for different houses in the same row.

Here I would like to remind again that land forms is not necessarily about Green Dragons, White Tigers, Black Turtle and the Red Phoenix. This is a wide misconceptions in the study of Chinese Feng Shui.

There is also the ‘Flying Star’ land forms that you need to consider. (Big Wu Chang Secret! Haha…)

Thirdly, each house in the same row may have different designs or mirror images. In Malaysia, it is now a trend where the same row has alternate designs of house such as Type A,B,C,A,B,C…along the same row of houses.

Fourthly, each house may have arranged things differently. I mean the bed, the rooms, the stove etc. Hence, your sleeping directions or the location of your bedroom, bed will also be different.

Lastly, different people have different Ming Gua, 命卦 (Life Gua or Personal Gua). The effects will also be different on different individuals.

So without measuring we won’t be able to tell for sure. Once we have measured, plotted the Flying Star chart and ascertained the above factors, then we can tell for sure the house Feng Shui.

If you have Feng Shui Questions, just drop your questions in this Poll. I will try to answer relevant questions in due time.

Thank you.

Monthly Flying Star October 2012

Again, another month is approaching into the Cold Dew at the end of Autumn on the 8th of October.

Here is the Flying Star Chart…

This Month, the San Sha goes to the North.

You will see the Chart of the Annual Chart and the Monthly Stars are identical. Meaning the effects will be doubled. If good it will be better and if bad, even worse…

Celebrity Feng Shui For You?

Back in 2008 a celebrity Master published a book on water feng shui & later a senior consultant from that school published another book from the same series…

In the book, they say that for apartments, the date to determine the period chart of the apartment is the move in date of the first occupant.

This is half wrong!

If everyone try to DIY Feng Shui, buys this book and do it themselves…gosh…imagine the wrong period chart means wrong flying star feng shui, I cannot imagine what can happen next to this person….May god bless him.

So How to Feng Shui your home? Simple! get the right school and you will do fine..

You can see that this is indeed dangerous. It only proves a few things.

1. They don’t know what they are teaching as the foundation on understanding real feng shui is not solid. They don’t even understand the concept of “Qi Enclosement”.

2. They don’t have lineage to prove their understanding is correct and working. So, probably they try and error based on their own understanding of classic texts.

Think! Good marketing does not necessarily mean you are going to learn Real Feng Shui…you get Celebrity Feng Shui. 🙂

Monthly Flying Star September 2012

Hi! here is the September star chart which starts on the 7th September as we enter the month of 己酉!

This month San Sha falls on the East side!

NE too has good stars going to this sector. South is fairly good.

5 Yellow flies to the East Sector this month. There are no remedy by putting statue nor carry amulets. At best you can hang a copper wind chime or bell to reduce it.

The way the stars are “triggered” depends on a few factors and of course different schools will read it differently and you may read it as per your school or what ever book you have learned.

Please read this chart together with your house natal chart or base chart.

For us at Wu Chang Sect (无常流), the utilisation of the natal chart is quite different as the presence of a good star is meaningless if you don’t tap into it. The way we tap into is no merely having your bed or desk or have a water feature at that sector . This is the basic level of flying star. There are additional layers in laying the feng shui formation which makes our method more potent.

For example it does not mean that only East facing houses will have potential issues, other facing houses can also have it if the natal chart has it triggered. Also, does not mean that if you sleep in a NW room you will not have the problems . You can also get it if the above formation is fulfilled.

A Course Not To Be Missed…二宅实験 (Er Zhai Shi Yan)

If you are serious in the practice of Flying Star Feng Shui, this is a course you must not miss. Why?

This book 二宅实験 (Er Zhai Shi Yan) is the 3rd book of all the cases done by Master Yen Pen @ Eu See Yin on both Yang and Yin Cases recorded by his disciples.

The first 2 books are called Zhai Yun Xin An (New Case Study of House Feng Shui). Here is an article written by Master Issac Chung.

In fact if you search in the Internet on images alone this is what you will see..

All these books are the favourite collection of Masters around the globe and I bet if you visit the private study rooms of Masters, there are sure to be a copy there especially those Chinese Literate masters. However, how many is able to fully interpret the book? This is something I know is only a handful unless they are our graduates.

What is special about this book is that, inside are all the real case done and results obtain but more importantly it has doctrinated the advance theories of Flying Star Feng Shui. Only a Master from the same Lineage is able to understand what are the hidden secrets inside this book.

This is not another Flying Star Feng Shui course, this is one and only unique to CAFS. No way you can equate with other Flying Star courses.

This case study itself, you will learn how to lay a good feng shui formation that is proven, pin point the timing of happening and what is really a sha qi, the compartmentalise of a house and the application onto a plot of land.

Without going through this course, you cannot call yourself a Real Flying Star Practitioner. Next, I share 2 reasons and cases.

Most schools today like to mix and match systems. E.g. they mix 8 Mansion (Ba Zhai) with Flying Star or Mix San He with San Yuan Flying Star & call it Zhong He. They then sell this idea to newbies that they are merging the best of the 2 worlds like you try Western and Eastern medical methods to cure a patient. First of all, Feng Shui don’t work in this manner because they are founded on 2 different systems & it is more like trying to merge 2 religious believe together. Try imagine this, a couple from 2 different religion holding on to their believes and try to bring the best out of 2 religion after marriage. Perhaps there will be an emerging 3rd religion if they ever survive this as a couple.

A likely result from this is the proliferation of different arts each trying to explain what they cannot explain in their current learning. Today Chinese Metaphysicians are going after Qi Men Dun Jia Divination, Yi Jing Feng Shui, Zi Wei Feng Shui, 8 Mansions, Symbolic or play it down or up on “Internal Feng Shui” in an unending cycle trying to search the truth why this and that happened. Why sometimes I get the result and other times nothing happened or it had gone bad?

When the fundamentals are not correct, how do you expect to have the correct results? I have no issues if people wants to learn more but first get the fundamentals right.

We had a case, a client for Yin Feng Shui that the husband passed away after about 9 months living in the new house done by 1 famous feng shui master. After the burial was done, we had chance to speak to the lady who was so traumatized at the passing of her husband aged late forties. We persuaded her to show us the house but at first she was reluctant but later she agreed to show us the house where the husband passed away after a heart attack.

We were surprised that the bed was aligned 45 degrees and was in a 9-5 position in a 9-2.(if you dont understand this, it is understandable as this is unique in our course). We know that the master was a practitioner of mix and match system. If you think mix match is funny, think again! Feng Shui can get people into trouble if it is not done correctly.

On another case, we have a student who only studied 2 courses from Master Leyau, Flying Feng Shui and Advance Flying Star (Er Zhai). After graduation, he did the next 10+ cases and his friends/relatives was astonished how he can tell the house and the occupants so well! This was the testimonial he happily gave Master Leyau. I am not bragging. I am only telling what was told to us by the student himself. I cannot lie for lies will be exposed someday and there is no need to do so. Real conviction comes from real experience.

It is not the problem with the art nor the student nor the master. It is the combination of the Right Knowledge from the Right Master then you will be the Right Student!.

I know most students are frustrated but actually they don’t have to, really! .When you acquire the right knowledge, your skills will be apart from the rest because you and your family deserves to have a better life. Don’t miss this!

Read on to know what you will be getting in a complete San Yuan Flying Star system.

Another Great Testimonial from A Seasoned Practitioner.

Here I append the English Translation, my humble translation…for the Chinese Version (Original Version), please visit fengshuimastery.com

Feng shui is not an easy art to master. This is my honest expression from years of practicing feng shui. Without the guidance of an experienced master, it is very difficult to master the finer points of feng shui. Reason feng shui as been taken by public as a superstition or con man’s tool to cheat the public is part on us as feng shui practitioners, we have the responsibility to correct this wrong perception.

Those ancient masters I don’t mention, just the more recent masters like, Tan Yang Wu, You Xin Yin (Yen Pen), Ven. Hong Chuan, Ven. Sui Ming, Chen Bei Sheng, Zhen Zi Nan etc…, those people who benefitted from their help are countless and same time many practitioners who have not mastered the finer art of Feng Shui has eagerly gone into practice, may have caused damages to their clients and their generations without knowing it. It is sad to know this happenings.

As they have passed away, I can only patiently accumulate the experience, and through mistakes I verify respected teachers’ teachings. Sometimes I am stuck and I have nobody to ask for guidance so I have to only depend on myself to find the answers. Most masters only explain the wordings on the classics but not the hidden meaning of the texts and this is very common nowadays. After many years of searching for a real master which I almost give up but perhaps heaven heard my sincere heart’s calling and via Mr Lai I finally managed to meet Master Leyau.

Laozi in his book Tao De Ching, has a poem that I can use the best describe or express my gratitude to my Master:

Extracted from Tao De Ching

When the great man learns the Way, he follows it with diligence;
When the common man learns the Way, he follows it on occasion;
When the mean man learns the Way, he laughs out loud;
Those who do not laugh, do not learn at all.

Therefore it is said:
Who understands the Way seems foolish;
Who progresses on the Way seems to fail;
Who follows the Way seems to wander.

For the finest harmony appears plain;
The brightest truth appears coloured;
The richest character appears incomplete;
The bravest heart appears meek;
The simplest nature appears inconstant.

The square, perfected, has no corner;
Music, perfected, has no melody;
Love, perfected, has no climax;
Art, perfected, has no meaning.

The Way can be neither sensed nor known:
It transmits sensation and transcends knowledge.

In the above poem, there is 1 phrase that “great man learns the way” and sincere people after listening will strive to work harder while those who are not clear after listening, will only laugh at it but the real dao are usually things that we laugh at. That is why the sage says “ the illumination in the dao is like darkness, the forward dao is like moving backwards” it is like a kind of contradictory meaning because its true meaning has not been unraveled. Usually the accomplished person will often look like a monk/priest/sage.

So what has it got to do with me in my journey of finding master? It is me telling master “I will remember your teachings & work diligently towards it” & master’s image in my mind is like the above poem.

Also, I must thank Wanli Singapore Mr Lai for leading me to meet Master Leyau. He helped me accomplish my wish in searching for a right Master although I have at least 16 years of experience in Feng Shui. When I decided to enroll to master’s courses, I choose to start off with the most basic course and learn from beginning [to unlearn to learn].

1. 三元玄空飛星課(Flying Star Feng Shui)

Those who have learnt Xuan Kong will know what is Flying Star and I am no exception and I have deep experience in Flying Star, at least this are my thoughts before I attended the course. During the course, Master’s explanation is really profound and deep. Then from here my understanding of Flying Star has gone another level deeper as master decode the real meaning behind. He always explains in simple words the application & interpretation of Flying Star. Like the meaning of Mountain and Water is not as what I have understood till today, & I felt very surprise with this new teaching, it is an eye opener. Even the most common 81 combination, no need to memorize and you can almost immediately remember. Master Zhang’s  secret formula of 7 star Robbery was explained well by Master and is not as complicated as what you read in books. The Castle gate theory that has been most feng shui master’s difficult/confusing subject because most common teachings has explained in many ways but are not practical. However, what master has taught can be used to benefit the public, at least this is my understanding. In Xuan Kong Feng Shui, everyone knows that the main door is important but how to know the right position to bring in auspiciousness because a slight misunderstanding of the theory can make good become bad. Just an explanation from Master, I now grasp the real secret of this concept. My years of doubts and blind spot in Flying Star has been cleared during this course. If you really serious about learning Flying Star, this course is a must for you.

This is my experience after attending the course with master.

2. 二宅實驗課( Er Zhai – Advance flying star)

This is my 2nd astonishing class, Er Zhai Shi Yan is a book that every practitioner of Xuan Kong should read. It records the past cases and by far one of the most comprehensive records of Xuan Kong teachings and secret but master has so skilfully explained it’s content. Grandmaster (Yee Sin Monk) has recorded so many cases and to expound the key concepts inside this book. Before this course, this book is one of the intriguing book even after going through it many times. Those sections that I cannot understand has now been clearly explained by master (Master Leyau) the Yang(Living) house sections. Each case is explained in detail so I have now cleared my blind spots. Now, when I re study the book, I now understand Grandmaster’s meaning in the book and his hard works. Master has explain both the theory and application completely. Without his guidance, it is impossible to catch the essence of this book. So many practitioners of Xuan Kong Flying star think that it is about big and small taiji of the 9 palaces and perhaps you are one of them. If you come to this course and also read this book人間天眼指南 you will discover the real meaning of shifting palace & sitting and facing then you will truly understand the secret and call yourself a graduate.

3. 玄空大卦風水課(Xuan Kong Da Gua Feng Shui)

At present there a many XKDG feng shui courses and many have learnt it before, however, XKDG is not as what books or course teach outside as they are not pragmatic. After attending master’s course I only feel this is real feng shui. It is like a refreshing feeling of a new understanding of for example, what is truly Qian mountain Qian facing Qian water, what is Kun Ren Yi, coming out from Ju Men, River East coming auspicious, 8 gods 4 as 1 etc. is like the oral secret of the classics exposed by master. Now the key points, in 7 star robbery, Li palace must combine, this secret is not as what books or common books say, Li palace as the robber, Kan as the fake robber. Apart from this, I also have understood the oracle of Jing Fan, Bagua Yao, Wen wang gua etc. which was in the past a difficult & also subjects  like zhuang gua & changing yao.

Master’s XKDG course, I can say is really an eye opener. I am fortunate to have learnt from master the essentials. Even the book Di Li Bian Zhen every sentence is explained by master.

I really appreciate master’s guidance and teachings.

These are my experience so far attending the course with master. Later I will join master’s Yin Feng Shui, XKDG date selection and San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia and palmistry.

I too hope more people can acquire the right knowledge but perhaps one needs good karma to find a good master? Have a nice coming week!

A verse from “Ba Zhai Tian Yuan Fu”

Jiang Da Hong says: “…if you want to know what is true in the 8 houses, you have to know the numbers in the 9 palaces…”.

This sentence alone we can learn a lot about flying star but in this article my intention is to only talk about the 2nd half of the sentence “know the numbers in the 9 palaces…”

What are the numbers in the 9 palaces?  What is the significance of the 9 numbers to feng shui? Is he referring the 9 to the 9 stars or 9 palaces?

I share my thoughts on this subject.

“…numbers in the 9 palaces..” means the 9 numbers in the 9 squares. Just like the diagram below:

To understand a house, we have to know the numbers in the 9 palaces. To know is to understand and be able to apply the knowledge of the numbers in the 9 palaces. With these 9 numbers & it’s combinations of numbers, one can tell the house well. If one does not know nor understand the significance of these 9 numbers in the 9 palaces then how can one tell the house? Perhaps, why some practitioners and students are frustrated with flying star and label it as fake is because they have failed to understand the deeper part of 2nd portion of this verse or reduce flying star to merely a divination tool.

How do we want to understand the numbers? Most will know or understand the individual stars like Star #1 is the Tang Lang Star which represents Intelligence star and so forth, and most, I believe also knows about the 81 combination of stars. This you can find on the bookshelfs any major bookstores. A little difference in the meaning from different authors but more or less you can find it quite easily. This is rather an easy task for basic level. Finally to understand the deeper meaning one has to be adept in knowledge of Yi Jing or I-Ching.

Understanding seems an easy task! Not really, but let’s put this question aside for a moment and move on to the next part & that is how to apply the numbers then we come back to understanding later. And yes application is the most tricky & critical part.

To illustrate, I take the example of a room layout I posted in Facebook couple of days back to keep things less complicated. Can you spot the 4 sets of numbers? This is where the major difference between authentic Flying Star and the general Flying Star readily available in the market. This is what sets apart the effectiveness between Wu Chang and other Shen School of Flying Star (common Flying Star).

If you can get this 4 sets of numbers correct, you do not have to worry about the colors of your room nor mirrors affecting your bedroom’s feng shui. So this is the 1st important lesson that Master Jiang is trying to tell us. Internal Feng Shui is inferior to the effects brought by the numbers in the 9 palaces

In authentic Flying Star, you can also makes a difference to the feng shui of the room by changing the Qi of the room door. Knowing the Qi of the room’s door is a concept known by most practitioners but what they don’t know is that the Qi is dynamic and not static. This is the advance concept of Wu Chang Flying Star.

So, if one does not understand the numbers thoroughly, how can one change the Qi correctly & effectively?

This is important as each number adds a layer of information to your flying star. Once you know it then you can better improve your bedroom feng shui for example.

If one superimpose the chart onto the house using 8 pie or 9 grid, knowing exactly the Qi inside each room is a challenge especially when you see a line dividing a room. This reduces the chance of getting one set of the numbers correct.

So by not knowing the full sets of numbers, one is already missing the vital link in understanding what is going on in the room, why this person had an accident last month and so forth and this is the 2nd lesson we ought to learn.

Therefore, correct understanding the numbers and in it’s application is indeed a daunting task for the commoner Flying Star and it is no wonder the Feng Shui works at times and don’t work on other times.  And the reason behind is simply because they cannot predict the house and if something has gone bad, how can they explain. Blame the mirror, the toilet bowl behind, the beam on top or lamp post? If something good happens then how they explain? The Bazi is good, the wealth vase did the job, or last weekend he move the furnitures or the new aquarium ‘activated’ the qi?

Summing up, the few important points to capture is Internal Feng Shui is not important compared to the effects from the Stars and having the correct understanding of the numbers in the 9 palaces and how it is applied can allow one to properly set a strong house feng shui so it can sustains good feng shui over the longer term.

In fact, there are more layers into telling the 9 numbers in the 9 palaces but for now I hoped you have enjoyed this posting.
