Date Selection – Real Story

Feng Shui Date Selection…

Burial Date Selection

2020 was the year of Covid-19 and also it was the year Macau tycoon Stanley Ho passed away at a ripe age of 98 years old on 26th May 2020. He was not immediately buried after the wake ceremony but he had his coffin parked in a funeral parlour waiting for a suitable date the be buried.

In recent years because of strong marketing efforts, a new age trend has emerged when it comes to date selection. People select date for almost everything in or to “Maximise” auspiciousness. They do it for selecting the date to register the business, they selected date to hang the sign board, they select date to meet customer and now they even added in the direction to leave the house. So virtually anything your can think of will likely go through some form of date selection may it be from Tong Shu, Qi Men Dun Jia, Dong Gong etc…

This is the new age practice. I thought that as man becomes more educated or civilized, we should be more rational but I was wrong, instead people become more superstitious and are now even avoiding eclipse. As far as I know the masters that promoted this concept themselves are having a hard time too. I was not aware of this and went out for a walk and it was a breezy day. It was so invigorating.

It was until I saw those messages people filling up my phone messages about the eclipse that I then realized I have violated the so called bad luck thing to go out during that hour and being exposed to eclipse. Hahaha….thank the almighty I did not suffer from eclipse nor the Mercury retrograde.

Yes Mercury retrograde too has become a hot topic in the recent years but it has nothing to do with Chinese metaphysics.

Feng Shui For Condominium And Apartment

High Rise is the future trend in property as land is getting scarce. This is very evident in Singapore and Hong Kong where land is really scarce and less. Malaysia is catching up fast too.

I am more familiar with Malaysian and Singapore Feng Shui since I have many clients here.

So the question is, Is High Rise Property less Auspicious compared to landed ? In my book Winds of Change – The Myth and Truth of Feng Shui and Bazi, there is a case about how an little apartment that violated most Feng shui taboos did well after moving it. You can read it out in the book available on Amazon or Kinokuniya in Malaysia.

Feng Shui In Singapore

Since Singapore has the most high rises such as Condominum and HDB apartments, I shall focus my article on the cases I have done in Singapore. Some of them are a redo of famous Feng Shui Masters in Singapore.

To begin with, conceptually Feng Shui for Condominium and Apartment are audited the same way as a landed property except for a few new twist. This kind of Feng shui is more complicated since it is not well documented in the old Chinese Feng Shui Classics. Thus a strong understanding of the concepts of Feng Shui is very important.

A lousy doctor at most kills a patient but a lousy Feng Shui Master can kill the entire family. I will share some short cases below. Stayed tuned.

The 2 usual major complications are how to determine the Facing of the unit and The Period of the unit.

The Discussion of Two Malls’ Feng Shui

Business Feng Shui

Back in mid 2012, I was having a discussion with one of my senior since we both stay in vicinity. The discussion was focused on feng shui since this is out common denominator. Both of them was opened to public by end 2012.

Recently nearby our place there are two malls recently started operations. The first to start was One City Mall (managed & built by MCT) and months later The Main Place later started (managed & refurbished by BinaPuri).

Some background information, One city has many new features of a mall such as sky bridge, a large gym, and cinema (closed now), a 4 star hotel, Maybank, SoHo and is centered on business / office mall. Most of the restaurants are also the high end.

On the other hand, Main Place is of a smaller scale and has the more traditional features of a shopping mall with a grocer, apparels, pharmacy, fast food chains, book store, toys r us to name a few outlets.

Yin Feng Shui or Ancestral Feng Shui

It has been sometime that I have not written something on Yin Feng Shui or also known as Ancestral Feng Shui / Burial Feng Shui. This is a very important process in the Chinese tradition because we revered our ancestors very much and hence put in the importance of honoring them even after they have completed their lives here on earth.

As we Chinese belief, this is one of the most powerful method of feng shui that can help a family rise to great heights and also cast a spell on the descendants for many years if done wrongly. This is sometimes a scary thing that most people today decided to cremate rather than bury.

Of course cremation also makes better sense in today’s situation simply due to scarcity of land as well as the high cost associated with burial. After cremating, they can put the ashes into a columbarium.

Yin Feng Shui Principles

Yin Feng Shui is very dependent on the land formations and the skill of the Feng Shui master to select the land which is called a Xue spot 穴. The Xue is considered a good spot with the strong and auspicious energy that can prosper the descendants through the bones of the deceased. Many may find this concept hard to accept but it is a fact and today modern science is able to explain.

Date Selection

A Good Day – XKDG Date Selection

I was once doing Sheng Ji a.k.a. life grave on a selected good date, it was rather surprising that the day was dry and shining where as nearby districts are having rain for the duration of the work which lasted 3 days since that was the rainy season in Malaysia. The work was smooth and completed without hiccups.

There were scent smell of peppermint blown in by the gentle breeze from the jungle hills and a big grasshopper stopped by almost like saying hello. It was scorching 42 degrees Celsius but heaven is kind by keeping us cool with the scented breeze. Everybody did not fall sick.

Date Selection – Tong Shu

Chinese new year is just around the corner and for 2014 it falls on January 30th. To chinese people regardless of nationality, this is a very important celebration and it is always celebrated in grandeur regardless if you are poor or rich. In the old days the folks will stop working for 15 days full till the 15th day of the Lunar Calendar but nowadays they do not rest that long anymore. So after the long break, chinese people put a lot of emphasis in selecting a good dates to commence work for the new year to bring in auspicious energy to their homes or businesses so that things will be smooth throughout the year.

TongShu

Commoners will rely on the Tong Shu to select a good date. Sample of the traditional Chinese Tong Shu is on the left.

Date Selection has been taught by many schools to be a prerequisite to getting good results in feng shui. I do not disagree to this but the question one should ask is which method is the proper method? Which method that traditional lineage masters use! Which is the Real system?

Date Selection, General

Selecting Good Dates

In Feng Shui, many a times the best way for a house to have good Feng shui is to tap the best energy or Qi. However, most of the time, when we buy a house or property, we will never be having the best formation and hence some corrections are usually needed to achieve better Feng Shui.

This is the reason also why the best time to engage Feng Shui consultant is before buying a house or as second choice would be before the move in.

After you have decided to when to move in or start a renovation, a good date is required and to be selected by a qualified Feng Shui Consultant or Master. I cannot stress the importance of selecting a good date simply because it makes a huge difference.

Just today itself, as we were erecting a new door for a client, the date was selected 2 months ago and really there are many good things that I cannot explain and perhaps you may want to reduce it to as ‘just coincidence’. Here is how it went…

Testimonial

Another Great Testimonial from A Seasoned Practitioner.

Here I append the English Translation, my humble translation…for the Chinese Version (Original Version), please visit fengshuimastery.com

Feng shui is not an easy art to master. This is my honest expression from years of practicing feng shui. Without the guidance of an experienced master, it is very difficult to master the finer points of feng shui. Reason feng shui as been taken by public as a superstition or con man’s tool to cheat the public is part on us as feng shui practitioners, we have the responsibility to correct this wrong perception.

Those ancient masters I don’t mention, just the more recent masters like, Tan Yang Wu, You Xin Yin (Yen Pen), Ven. Hong Chuan, Ven. Sui Ming, Chen Bei Sheng, Zhen Zi Nan etc…, those people who benefitted from their help are countless and same time many practitioners who have not mastered the finer art of Feng Shui has eagerly gone into practice, may have caused damages to their clients and their generations without knowing it. It is sad to know this happenings.

As they have passed away, I can only patiently accumulate the experience, and through mistakes I verify respected teachers’ teachings. Sometimes I am stuck and I have nobody to ask for guidance so I have to only depend on myself to find the answers. Most masters only explain the wordings on the classics but not the hidden meaning of the texts and this is very common nowadays. After many years of searching for a real master which I almost give up but perhaps heaven heard my sincere heart’s calling and via Mr Lai I finally managed to meet Master Leyau.

Laozi in his book Tao De Ching, has a poem that I can use the best describe or express my gratitude to my Master:

Extracted from Tao De Ching

When the great man learns the Way, he follows it with diligence;
When the common man learns the Way, he follows it on occasion;
When the mean man learns the Way, he laughs out loud;
Those who do not laugh, do not learn at all.

Therefore it is said:
Who understands the Way seems foolish;
Who progresses on the Way seems to fail;
Who follows the Way seems to wander.

For the finest harmony appears plain;
The brightest truth appears coloured;
The richest character appears incomplete;
The bravest heart appears meek;
The simplest nature appears inconstant.

The square, perfected, has no corner;
Music, perfected, has no melody;
Love, perfected, has no climax;
Art, perfected, has no meaning.

The Way can be neither sensed nor known:
It transmits sensation and transcends knowledge.

In the above poem, there is 1 phrase that “great man learns the way” and sincere people after listening will strive to work harder while those who are not clear after listening, will only laugh at it but the real dao are usually things that we laugh at. That is why the sage says “ the illumination in the dao is like darkness, the forward dao is like moving backwards” it is like a kind of contradictory meaning because its true meaning has not been unraveled. Usually the accomplished person will often look like a monk/priest/sage.

So what has it got to do with me in my journey of finding master? It is me telling master “I will remember your teachings & work diligently towards it” & master’s image in my mind is like the above poem.

Also, I must thank Wanli Singapore Mr Lai for leading me to meet Master Leyau. He helped me accomplish my wish in searching for a right Master although I have at least 16 years of experience in Feng Shui. When I decided to enroll to master’s courses, I choose to start off with the most basic course and learn from beginning [to unlearn to learn].

1. 三元玄空飛星課(Flying Star Feng Shui)

Those who have learnt Xuan Kong will know what is Flying Star and I am no exception and I have deep experience in Flying Star, at least this are my thoughts before I attended the course. During the course, Master’s explanation is really profound and deep. Then from here my understanding of Flying Star has gone another level deeper as master decode the real meaning behind. He always explains in simple words the application & interpretation of Flying Star. Like the meaning of Mountain and Water is not as what I have understood till today, & I felt very surprise with this new teaching, it is an eye opener. Even the most common 81 combination, no need to memorize and you can almost immediately remember. Master Zhang’s  secret formula of 7 star Robbery was explained well by Master and is not as complicated as what you read in books. The Castle gate theory that has been most feng shui master’s difficult/confusing subject because most common teachings has explained in many ways but are not practical. However, what master has taught can be used to benefit the public, at least this is my understanding. In Xuan Kong Feng Shui, everyone knows that the main door is important but how to know the right position to bring in auspiciousness because a slight misunderstanding of the theory can make good become bad. Just an explanation from Master, I now grasp the real secret of this concept. My years of doubts and blind spot in Flying Star has been cleared during this course. If you really serious about learning Flying Star, this course is a must for you.

This is my experience after attending the course with master.

2. 二宅實驗課( Er Zhai – Advance flying star)

This is my 2nd astonishing class, Er Zhai Shi Yan is a book that every practitioner of Xuan Kong should read. It records the past cases and by far one of the most comprehensive records of Xuan Kong teachings and secret but master has so skilfully explained it’s content. Grandmaster (Yee Sin Monk) has recorded so many cases and to expound the key concepts inside this book. Before this course, this book is one of the intriguing book even after going through it many times. Those sections that I cannot understand has now been clearly explained by master (Master Leyau) the Yang(Living) house sections. Each case is explained in detail so I have now cleared my blind spots. Now, when I re study the book, I now understand Grandmaster’s meaning in the book and his hard works. Master has explain both the theory and application completely. Without his guidance, it is impossible to catch the essence of this book. So many practitioners of Xuan Kong Flying star think that it is about big and small taiji of the 9 palaces and perhaps you are one of them. If you come to this course and also read this book人間天眼指南 you will discover the real meaning of shifting palace & sitting and facing then you will truly understand the secret and call yourself a graduate.

3. 玄空大卦風水課(Xuan Kong Da Gua Feng Shui)

At present there a many XKDG feng shui courses and many have learnt it before, however, XKDG is not as what books or course teach outside as they are not pragmatic. After attending master’s course I only feel this is real feng shui. It is like a refreshing feeling of a new understanding of for example, what is truly Qian mountain Qian facing Qian water, what is Kun Ren Yi, coming out from Ju Men, River East coming auspicious, 8 gods 4 as 1 etc. is like the oral secret of the classics exposed by master. Now the key points, in 7 star robbery, Li palace must combine, this secret is not as what books or common books say, Li palace as the robber, Kan as the fake robber. Apart from this, I also have understood the oracle of Jing Fan, Bagua Yao, Wen wang gua etc. which was in the past a difficult & also subjects  like zhuang gua & changing yao.

Master’s XKDG course, I can say is really an eye opener. I am fortunate to have learnt from master the essentials. Even the book Di Li Bian Zhen every sentence is explained by master.

I really appreciate master’s guidance and teachings.

These are my experience so far attending the course with master. Later I will join master’s Yin Feng Shui, XKDG date selection and San Yuan Qi Men Dun Jia and palmistry.

I too hope more people can acquire the right knowledge but perhaps one needs good karma to find a good master? Have a nice coming week!
