Feng Shui Questions Answered

I have been collecting questions from viewers in the poll that I have posted some time back and this is one of them which I will answer…

Question:

For your example, from the master plan, there are some sectors where the houses will enjoy better feng shui than others within the same development.

Which is a better sector that enjoy better fengshui than others?

How do we know which will be better in getting better Qi?.

———————————————————————————————————————————————–

My Answer:

Which sector or which row of houses within the development that will enjoy better feng shui is very much dependable on several factors.

First, we need to measure because each house has different measurement. Yes you hear me right. Opposed to conventional thinking that the same row of houses will have same direction is certainly not true. So first we need to measure to know for sure what is the Qi prevailing in each houses. What Qi is prevailing, we will have to know the Flying Star Chart. There is no short cut but to measure the house.

Secondly, the landforms surrounding the houses is different for each house. E.g. a junction could be facing 1 or 2 houses but the rest of the houses will not be subjected to this. I again re-iterate here that junctions are not necessary bad. Another way of saying is also the location of mountains, water and other factors are also different relatively to each houses. You can see the illustration below. The blue spot is at different locations for different houses in the same row.

Here I would like to remind again that land forms is not necessarily about Green Dragons, White Tigers, Black Turtle and the Red Phoenix. This is a wide misconceptions in the study of Chinese Feng Shui.

There is also the ‘Flying Star’ land forms that you need to consider. (Big Wu Chang Secret! Haha…)

Thirdly, each house in the same row may have different designs or mirror images. In Malaysia, it is now a trend where the same row has alternate designs of house such as Type A,B,C,A,B,C…along the same row of houses.

Fourthly, each house may have arranged things differently. I mean the bed, the rooms, the stove etc. Hence, your sleeping directions or the location of your bedroom, bed will also be different.

Lastly, different people have different Ming Gua, 命卦 (Life Gua or Personal Gua). The effects will also be different on different individuals.

So without measuring we won’t be able to tell for sure. Once we have measured, plotted the Flying Star chart and ascertained the above factors, then we can tell for sure the house Feng Shui.

If you have Feng Shui Questions, just drop your questions in this Poll. I will try to answer relevant questions in due time.

Thank you.

A verse from “Ba Zhai Tian Yuan Fu”

Jiang Da Hong says: “…if you want to know what is true in the 8 houses, you have to know the numbers in the 9 palaces…”.

This sentence alone we can learn a lot about flying star but in this article my intention is to only talk about the 2nd half of the sentence “know the numbers in the 9 palaces…”

What are the numbers in the 9 palaces?  What is the significance of the 9 numbers to feng shui? Is he referring the 9 to the 9 stars or 9 palaces?

I share my thoughts on this subject.

“…numbers in the 9 palaces..” means the 9 numbers in the 9 squares. Just like the diagram below:

To understand a house, we have to know the numbers in the 9 palaces. To know is to understand and be able to apply the knowledge of the numbers in the 9 palaces. With these 9 numbers & it’s combinations of numbers, one can tell the house well. If one does not know nor understand the significance of these 9 numbers in the 9 palaces then how can one tell the house? Perhaps, why some practitioners and students are frustrated with flying star and label it as fake is because they have failed to understand the deeper part of 2nd portion of this verse or reduce flying star to merely a divination tool.

How do we want to understand the numbers? Most will know or understand the individual stars like Star #1 is the Tang Lang Star which represents Intelligence star and so forth, and most, I believe also knows about the 81 combination of stars. This you can find on the bookshelfs any major bookstores. A little difference in the meaning from different authors but more or less you can find it quite easily. This is rather an easy task for basic level. Finally to understand the deeper meaning one has to be adept in knowledge of Yi Jing or I-Ching.

Understanding seems an easy task! Not really, but let’s put this question aside for a moment and move on to the next part & that is how to apply the numbers then we come back to understanding later. And yes application is the most tricky & critical part.

To illustrate, I take the example of a room layout I posted in Facebook couple of days back to keep things less complicated. Can you spot the 4 sets of numbers? This is where the major difference between authentic Flying Star and the general Flying Star readily available in the market. This is what sets apart the effectiveness between Wu Chang and other Shen School of Flying Star (common Flying Star).

If you can get this 4 sets of numbers correct, you do not have to worry about the colors of your room nor mirrors affecting your bedroom’s feng shui. So this is the 1st important lesson that Master Jiang is trying to tell us. Internal Feng Shui is inferior to the effects brought by the numbers in the 9 palaces

In authentic Flying Star, you can also makes a difference to the feng shui of the room by changing the Qi of the room door. Knowing the Qi of the room’s door is a concept known by most practitioners but what they don’t know is that the Qi is dynamic and not static. This is the advance concept of Wu Chang Flying Star.

So, if one does not understand the numbers thoroughly, how can one change the Qi correctly & effectively?

This is important as each number adds a layer of information to your flying star. Once you know it then you can better improve your bedroom feng shui for example.

If one superimpose the chart onto the house using 8 pie or 9 grid, knowing exactly the Qi inside each room is a challenge especially when you see a line dividing a room. This reduces the chance of getting one set of the numbers correct.

So by not knowing the full sets of numbers, one is already missing the vital link in understanding what is going on in the room, why this person had an accident last month and so forth and this is the 2nd lesson we ought to learn.

Therefore, correct understanding the numbers and in it’s application is indeed a daunting task for the commoner Flying Star and it is no wonder the Feng Shui works at times and don’t work on other times.  And the reason behind is simply because they cannot predict the house and if something has gone bad, how can they explain. Blame the mirror, the toilet bowl behind, the beam on top or lamp post? If something good happens then how they explain? The Bazi is good, the wealth vase did the job, or last weekend he move the furnitures or the new aquarium ‘activated’ the qi?

Summing up, the few important points to capture is Internal Feng Shui is not important compared to the effects from the Stars and having the correct understanding of the numbers in the 9 palaces and how it is applied can allow one to properly set a strong house feng shui so it can sustains good feng shui over the longer term.

In fact, there are more layers into telling the 9 numbers in the 9 palaces but for now I hoped you have enjoyed this posting.

Feng Shui for Bedroom

Many posts have been written about bedroom feng shui. Why is there so much writen about the bedroom?

This is because the word bedroom is very much linked to romance or as a resting place?.

bedroom-feng-shui

In feng shui practice, bedroom is about resting and reproduction and so it has great influence on the overall house feng shui.

How can a bedroom affect the overall house feng shui? This is simple list of possibilities:

1. Ability to conceive (assuming medically the couple is fit for purpose)

2. Human relationship

3. Health

There have been many tips given ranging from avoiding mirror, using color, use of essential oils, candles, placement of bed according to forms and structure of the building and many more.

Once someone asked me, ‘is it true that bedroom has to lights off or can i have small light on?’ . Well first you need to understand yourself is can you sleep with a light on? Personally, I find it difficult but my friends cannot sleep in total darkness. This is not the point of concern actually. Depending on the type of energy in the room, the master or consultant will decide if it is better to have lights on and if yes where is the best to locate it.

Occasionally, I do get questions like “do i put a mandarin duck to enhance the romance?” Well you can try but personally I do not subscribe to this theory for result.  Classical Feng Shui is more about formulas on space and time.

The basic thing a bout a bedroom is that it first has to be comfortable and clean.

Remember, the most important thing about bedroom feng shui is finding a energy location and sleep in there. This is my advice for DIY beginners.

As for a Feng shui consultant, we do look more than this level. One of the key thing that we will look for is where is that room located in the house. Then the rest sets in.

Cheers and wish you a good nite sleep!  Sincerely….the fengshui mechanic
