2011 Annual Afflictions

Feng Shui Affilictions

2011 will set in very soon on the 4th Feb according the solar calendar. This signifies the change of energy according to Feng Shui.

Briefly the diagram above shows basic afflictions  and wealth areas. (Double click on it to enlarge)

This is the beauty of Feng Shui and that is knowing what is coming so we can be better prepared. Those  who does not have the advantage of feng shui help is sure to have more issues. E.g. someone who install air conditioning unit in West next year will sure to ‘activate’ bad energies and hence bring problems, accidents and other mishaps. I would install it before 4th Feb and avoid unnecessary problems. I have seen numerous of this happenings in my years of practising. Most of this is oblivious to them until they know the root cause but a little too late as damaged is already done.

Annual audit is more a fine tuning rather than used as a full audit by itself. So some area that is unusable is perhaps usable this year and vice versa. Annual energies also helps Feng Shui Master predicts what is likely to happen in the house next year.

Another example would be that some sitting direction has to be adjusted in that year. Not knowing this will leave you puzzling why this year I am frequently back stabbed or they key topic of gossip. This is what I call as fine tuning on a yearly basis.

So afflictions like 3 killings, grand duke (tai sui), 5 Yellow and Year Breaker must be taken seriously. Avoiding these bad sectors is already half good!

However this is not generic, apply to all, kind of stuff and the Feng Shui Consultant has to match it with your overall house and you the person as well. In other words the house has to be read in ‘totality’.

We will be organising a webninar for 2012 Feng Shui in December this year. If you are interested please email qimgmt@yahoo.com to reserve your space as we can only accomodate 15 participants.

The topics will be Feng Shui Afflictions for 2012 and tips.

Flying Star Oct 2010

This month West is not suitable for anything important. For those who wants some romance luck or having a rocky time in marriage may want to make use of SW more this month while working things out .

Those with weak health or sickly person, be aware of SE rooms. Do not make any renovations or moving of furniture here.

This month begins from the 8th October to 7th November.

Date Selection – The Basics

Why do we want to select a good date to do something important? Why is it in a Feng Shui solution works better with a good date compared to average or bad date? Does it make a difference?

The answer is obviously yes, if not I wouldn’t even bother to post this article. Again, the only way to know if it is true is when you have repeatedly experienced good results.

There are many methods of Date Selection and intended for various applications. The most common method is the Tong Shu or the Chinese lunar calendar. It uses the zodiac sign of the person and matching it with the date. This is very common in most traditional chinese home where the chinese calendar is a must.

Then there is the 12 Day Officer method and the Dong Gong method which primarily uses the 28 constellation method as it’s founding basis. These methods are more advance and also uses the person’s zodiac animal sign.

They are mostly meant for personal events like starting an important activity such as marriage, starting up a business, signing contracts, successful operation and many more….

Finally, there is the Xuan Kong Da Gua method which is for Feng Shui application. This method, you will need to know the basics of Bazi. XKDG uses the Solar Calendar and the person’s Bazi or 4 Pillars to match the Person to the Date and House.

XKDG Date Selection can be used for applications such as erecting the door, setting the stove, moving into the house, starting renovation, erecting the headstone for grave and etc..

Chinese metaphysics is very much entrenched in the Trinity Concept of Heaven, Earth and Man. They believe that 3 types of Qi exists and so the highest level of feng shui is to gather maximum effect is when all the 3 Qi are present and integrated. This is one layer of Feng Shui Application.

When Date Selection is employed the results are usually more visible, durable and faster. Next I will touch about San Sha ie the 3 Killings.

Magnetic Effects in Feng Shui

One of the most tricky subject in the application of Feng Shui is Magnetic interference to Luopan measurement.

Some say you should take the measurement as it is while most masters say it should be free from magnetic interference.

To understand this is to first understand the relationship between Feng Shui and Magnetic Field.

Today I am going to share some of my views. No right nor wrong…they are just my views.

The universe undoubtedly is very much influenced by magnetic field. Magnetic field is every where and cannot be created, destroyed nor stopped but it can be manipulated.

Earth has huge magnetic field lines aligning itself from North to South Pole. You may imagine this way though it is not exactly the way it exist.

Feng Shui is the management of Qi or chinese way of expressing energy. In Feng shui the formulas was based on understanding where Universal Qi source is and how it flows and how we can modify/manipulate it to our benefit.

To measure is to know what Qi is coming (good or bad) and then decide how to manipulate it. If you agree with me up to this point, then you will agree that to know what Qi is coming, the way we measure it is very important.

To say stand 20m outside the house and take measurement is in my humble opinion not accurate.

To take the direction of door facing from the architect’s blue print is fundamentally wrong.

To take the door with the house grill locked is also wrong. Why? Metal affects the measurement of the Loupan (Compass) but it does not affect the Universal Magnetic field or rather too small to have significant effect.

So what is the right method? Shh….it’s a secret!

Wanna know more……stay tuned.

San Yuan & San He what is the big fuss?

There has been a constant debate who is better?  For Feng shui enthusiast that goes around reading blogs and forums around the globe, some of you will find both schools debating which is better school and to some extent criticizing the other schools.

So now you can see the nature of man creeps in even in the world of feng shui.

My view is that both schools has its own roots and advantages. San He is the oldest school of Feng Shui founded by Yang Yun Song and also produced many great Feng Shui Masters like Lai Bu Yi. They are based on the formation of landforms of Hills and Rivers and uses different sets of formulas.

San Yuan school came later and was founded by Jiang Da Hong. Jiang Da Hong was a imperial astrologer and San Yuan school came from the observation of stars and sun movement. San Yuan feng shui takes after the formation of stars like the big ursa etc.

So they are simply 2 approaches with the same objective. Feng shui undeniably is the art of tapping of good Qi for the benefit of mankind.  So why bother which method?

Here is a saying from Chairman Mao, Black cat or White cat doesn’t matter what is important is the cat must be able to catch the mouse.

As a feng shui practitioner, what is important is challenging ourselves to harness the best results for clients and not waste time in forums criticizing other school’s method.

Feng Shui: What is it?

Something unexplained it’s effect. You have to feel it to know it. You have to experience it to know.

Many a times when i get to listen to what others claim to know about feng shui, I can only say most of the time I am disappointed. The only reason is because they have read or listen to many ‘feng shui’ sources that give false representation of what actually Feng Shui is.

Many theories have been mixed with folk lore, Daoism, cultural believe and mixed theories.

For example, most people like to put Kwan Kung or Fu Dogs as a symbol of protection. Some others use elephant as a symbol of prosperity.

I was a skeptic before who was brought up with false understanding of Feng Shui and when ever things goes wrong they blame it on bad feng shui. This is totally untrue.

How can this be feng shui? Feng shui is about energy called Qi or more specifically Earth Qi.

Mountain and waters

Where the land forms exist from Mountains and Rivers there exist good Feng shui. Humans when able to tap good feng shui, life will be balanced enabling us to achieve better success and health.

Next round I will share more of what actually Feng Shui is and my journey into the feng shui world……
