Feng Shui Master – 地理師 or 風水師

地理師 (Di Li Shi)

There are some misunderstanding between the term Feng Shui master and Geographical master in Asia.

To most lay person, Feng shui master is the person with the ability to change the fate of others, a kind of doctor for a destiny defect.

However it is not so correct term in our industry. We should be known as Dilishi or geographical master although in Malaysia we are commonly known as Feng Shui Master.

It’s quite logical because we locate the best energy spot and matching the local land formations to the grave formation. We decide how high or how low to locate the grave, we decide how deep to dig and we decide the final angle of the Tombstone, we select auspicious dates for important events and this translate to the future well-being of the descendants.

Feng Shui That Works

Most often people are skeptical if Feng Shui really works or just another hocus pocus or folk superstition. This largely depend on the person’s past experience or the place where they come from. If they come from a community that has strong superstition background well likely they will believe in putting things or item placements as part of Feng shui.

If one comes from religious background such the small villages of South East Asia, then probably religion will likely creep in as in “Feng Shui”. These group believe that Feng shui is religious with Daoism, Bagua mirrors, prayers, chanting etc.

If one comes from the “science or motivational school” then Feng Shui becomes illogical because science has not fully proved it and or they believe their success is purely their own ability.

Some have had bad experiences and thus blamed Feng Shui does not work or is just a fake art.

Feng Shui works if applied correctly. What do I mean by “applied correctly” ?. I mean:-

1.Correct Method Applied.

Every Feng shui method works but not all method works consistently. So getting the right Feng shui master with a good lineage is vital in this process. It has to be a good balance between the Knowledge and Application to many cases.

I have many cases in this blog that shows how Feng Shui was applied and resulted in positive outcomes. That, to me, is Feng Shui that Works!.

Voided Feng Shui

Why is it some malls are not able to perform or badly perform as in drawing in crowds? Is there a Feng Shui reason behind? We know that in Kuala Lumpur, there are malls with more than 20 years and yet holds high rental yield and full of crowd. Is it because purely due to location?  Today we investigated 2 such places in Kuala Lumpur.Void is a phenomena in feng shui whereby the building is in a position that is really bad Feng Shui.

The Glades, Putra Heights

The Glades Plaza was built as part of the complimentary for it’s gated Glades bungalow units back Quarter 4 of 2013. Photos taken this year shows that no business could survive there except their property sales office. Why can it be that bad? A property developer that is top 10 in Malaysia and it’s Feng Shui was heavily promoted by an internationally famous Feng Shui master from Kuala Lumpur, why then it can be in such sad state?A few business tried to open there but closed down not long after. The last being a cafe.Is it due to poor marketing efforts or was played down by a hidden hands of Feng Shui? What was possibly missed out in the Feng Shui assessment? Gone were the days where bus load of students enthusiastically measuring with their new luopans that I vividly recalled while passing by back then.

The sad truth is that many behavioral economists know very little about psychology. – Richard Thaler

Sad Mall

Summit mall USJ has been opened for more than 20 years. Its a Sitting East Facing West property 卯山酉向 build around 1997-1998. Flaking this mall is a big office block and SEGI college and Summit Hotel.

Old view of Summit

About August of last year, it had a new face lift inside as well as outside the mall. They also lit up the parking bays which is commendable.

Upgraded Facade

Sadly today, after more than 1 year, Jan 2018, it has not improved in terms of crowd pulling. The simple reason is because the people factor of this mall is damaged.

Changed few major tenants, supermarket to B point and now Homedec. Many shops with some for as long as 17 years restaurant has closed down or moved out.

Front Main Door Facing West

Main door of any premise is very important factor in Feng shui. It has significant effects on the overall Feng Shui of any premise may it be a house, a mall or office.

With this type of Main door Feng Shui, changes of loss of money through misappropriation or gradual loss of business & arguments will be a common thing.

At this time where the economy is not so favorable, new tax laws, tougher business environment, new malls sprouting out nearby, it is understandable businesses are struggling. On hind side, it is still better then The Strand or the previous Subang Avenue and the USJ 19 mall.

Feng Shui For Human Factor

I was very pleased with this particular Feng Shui case and thus I have gotten the approval to share part of this case from the owner. This owner got this condo unit way back in 2003 and did some minor changes to the layout according to deity advice and later got a Feng shui master to audit the house in Singapore. 🇸🇬

This Feng shui master claimed he is from our lineage of Wu Chang 无常流 but I don’t believe so for a few reasons. Anyway there are many who likes to claim they are from Wu Chang because this is the authentic Feng Shui lineage. So readers do be aware of such claim.

Land Forms Feng Shui

The land formations wasn’t correct for a start. The house analysis was also deficient and the remedies was misinformed thus leading to the current state. 📉

For more than 10 years things has not got better & this I mean human relationships and harmony in the house. Money wise has also seen a challenging trend over the the many years.

If not for their hardworking and positive attitude I am sure it could have been worse. That is the thing about Feng shui, it works on small daily progress that is so small you don’t even feel a thing till you look back in time. Luckily there weren’t shortage of grit. 👍🏼

House Facing

The most challenging part in accessing this unit is to determine the facing of this unit. 🏠 Since this unit has made some changes when they moved in, it is different from the other unit in the same condominium development.

Mind’s Role in Destiny

This year of 2018 I want to begin with a message that has got to do less with Feng Shui and Bazi Astrology since I have been blogging a lot on this subject. This article will focus on the concept of Man or Humans and human has something unique that no other animals has and that is the MIND.

That is why Chinese Metaphysics it is always about the Trinity of

HEAVEN 天 – EARTH 地 – HUMAN 人.

Any results of our lives today is the net result of these 3 factors interacting together giving rise to our current well being. It is not fixed at 1/3 each but rather in a dynamic rhythm that changes the composition of the 3 components all the time.

Our destiny may lay the road map for our life and our house Feng Shui may cause us problems with bad energies due to improper setup, still we have our mind. In practical sense, our destiny will direct our thoughts and actions and same with feng shui energy but still we have the ability to shape our thoughts before taking actions. Remember each action taken will lead to a reaction or result. This is the Newton’s third law of energy.

Two Sides Of The Coin

明知山有虎,偏向虎山行

míng zhī shān yǒu hǔ, piān xiàng hǔ shān xíng

Although knowing that tigers reside in the mountain, one still insists on walking up there.

This proverb has two meanings: The more difficult and dangerous the place is, the more one wants to go there. It indicates a spirit of fearing nothing. Or it can mean that one knows well the dangers but insists on taking the risk away

Closing Observation for 2017 丁酉

Wrapping up 2017, this would be my key observation for the year. There are two sides to a coin as the old saying goes. Same proverb but we can read it with two meaning.

While some take it and run, some just sit one it and cry. The saddest observation this year is that nany knowing the problem but lacked the will and courage to overcome it or they know what is fake knowledge but some how not able to shake it off.

If we, the destiny master of ourselves don’t observe this fundamental step then we can only resign to fate and wait or hope for the best. I can share 2 contrasting personal experiences here.

Feng Shui Disbelief

Many people do not belief in Feng Shui. Some believe that it is all the act of God while some believe that it is purely human endeavor. This group believe that if what you belief you can become you will become with your own pure hard work and lots of mind motivation.

However, Feng shui is not a myth or something that is religious in nature. In fact it is quite scientific because over the years as science progresses, we are able to understand better the mechanics of Feng shui.

In short, it is a mix knowledge of geography and astronomy but explained in a Chinese way. So whether one believe in gravity / electromagnetism or not, it will still act upon us! If one jumps from 30th floor, gravity, not God will act upon us. For sure there is only one direction we will be heading to.

Bad Feng Shui House

This is a very sad case where the house occupant after moving in and stayed in this house has made significant financial digression.

In Feng Shui we believe the environment affects the house Feng shui and the house Feng shui in return affects its occupants for better or for worse.

Big corner property, big expensive cars and thus what seems rosy to others may not have known the coming of a sad episode. So what happened to them after staying in this house?

The Discussion of Two Malls’ Feng Shui

Business Feng Shui

Back in mid 2012, I was having a discussion with one of my senior since we both stay in vicinity. The discussion was focused on feng shui since this is out common denominator. Both of them was opened to public by end 2012.

Recently nearby our place there are two malls recently started operations. The first to start was One City Mall (managed & built by MCT) and months later The Main Place later started (managed & refurbished by BinaPuri).

Some background information, One city has many new features of a mall such as sky bridge, a large gym, and cinema (closed now), a 4 star hotel, Maybank, SoHo and is centered on business / office mall. Most of the restaurants are also the high end.

On the other hand, Main Place is of a smaller scale and has the more traditional features of a shopping mall with a grocer, apparels, pharmacy, fast food chains, book store, toys r us to name a few outlets.

Validity of Yin Feng Shui

I know many masters especially those who resides in the west say that Yin Feng Shui 阴宅风水 or Burial Feng Shui is more about filial than Feng Shui per se. I don’t know what prompted them to think this way. Maybe it’s their lack of knowledge, bad experience when they started handling Yin Feng Shui cases before or simply misinterpretation of the classics since they do not come from a Lineage school.

Recently I was invited to one of the most established Memorial Park in Malaysia. During the tour the staff brought me around for introduction to their park. The half way during the tour the staff asked me about a particular grave.

He said, Sifu, can you do a quick look at this particular grave? ” and being obliging I pull out my Luopan and measured the tomb stone and subsequently the surrounding land forms. I then said ” This grave after done, will prosper all children but in particular, female benefit more” His face was nothing but a frozen look.
