The true purpose of Sheng Ji (Live Grave 生基) has never been about wealth.
Its original intention is much simpler—and far more meaningful.
To preserve health, prolong life, and create an opportunity for recovery when life seems to be slipping away.
This is one such story.
When Everything Started Going Wrong
On 1 March 2026, I received a message from my client.
His father, a man in his late seventies, had been involved in a car accident after crashing into a tree.
Thankfully, the injuries did not initially appear serious.
The family breathed a sigh of relief.
But that relief did not last long.
A few days later, while recovering in hospital, his father collapsed in the toilet. He appeared increasingly weak and exhausted. Doctors discovered a persistent lung infection that refused to respond to several days of antibiotics.
Something wasn’t right.
A CT scan was finally ordered.
The results revealed that he had actually suffered multiple micro-strokes.
The family’s optimism quickly turned into uncertainty.
A Date Chosen Months Earlier
Long before this medical crisis unfolded, I had already selected 9 May 2026 as the date for his father’s Sheng Ji.
This date had been chosen many months in advance—not because it was convenient, but because it fulfilled the strict requirements of an exceptionally rare and powerful timing.
As his father’s condition deteriorated, my client confessed something that weighed heavily on his mind.
“Master… I’m afraid this Sheng Ji might become a real grave.”
It was a fear no son ever wants to experience.
The Morning of 9 May
We arrived at the cemetery just before 7:30 in the morning.
One of the elderly committee members greeted my client and immediately asked,
“Where is the sifu? Hasn’t he arrived yet?”

My client smiled and pointed towards me.
“He’s here.”
The elderly gentleman looked genuinely surprised.
Perhaps he had imagined a Feng Shui master with white hair, dressed in a traditional Chinese robe, wearing jade pendants and carrying ancient-looking accessories.
Instead, he found someone rather ordinary.
Appearances can often be deceiving.
No Rituals. No Incantations. Just Timing.
When the auspicious hour arrived, we carried out the ground-breaking ceremony.

There were no elaborate rituals.
No chanting.
No reciting of scriptures.
No affirmations.
No burning of offerings.
Just the correct land, the correct direction, and the correct timing.
Nothing more.
Nothing less.
Once the ceremony was completed, we headed to a nearby coffee shop for breakfast while the remaining work continued.
Then my client’s phone pinged.
It was a message from his brother.
The doctors had delivered troubling news.
They wanted the family to consider beginning steroid treatment—a treatment that might damage the kidneys. Given his father’s advanced age, the risks were significant.
The family was once again faced with a difficult decision.
The Tide Begins to Turn
I heard very little from my client that day.
We completed the Sheng Ji and each went home.

Then, several days later, another message arrived.
This one carried a very different tone.
The doctors had reassessed his father’s condition.
The diagnosis was revised to MSSA (Methicillin-Sensitive Staphylococcus aureus), a bacterial infection that could be effectively treated using intravenous antibiotics without exposing his kidneys to the risks of steroid therapy.

The atmosphere changed almost overnight.
What had looked increasingly hopeless began moving steadily in the right direction.
On 4 June 2026, his father was finally discharged from the hospital.

His rehabilitation from the strokes would continue, but he was well enough to return home.
Home to his wife.
Home to his children.
Home to his grandchildren.
Sometimes, that is the greatest blessing of all.
Why Did the Tide Turn?
Was it a miracle?
Was it simply luck?
Everyone is free to draw their own conclusions.
From my perspective, this demonstrates the importance of correct timing.
The Importance of Date Selection
This was not a date selected from the ordinary Tong Shu Almanac.
The Tong Shu serves the general public, but it represents only the most basic level of date selection.
For professional Feng Shui work, I use Xuan Kong Da Gua Date Selection (玄空大卦择日).
For this particular Sheng Ji, I selected an extremely rare formation known as Yi Gua Chun Qing (一卦纯清), or Pure Gua.

Within the San Yuan system, this is regarded as one of the most refined methods of date selection.
When Heaven, Earth, and Man are properly aligned, the date becomes capable of receiving and activating auspicious Qi at precisely the right moment.
Such dates are uncommon.
You certainly cannot find one every twelve days simply by flipping through a calendar.
When applied correctly, a powerful date can help introduce beneficial Qi to counter difficult circumstances and allow positive changes to unfold more quickly.
That is the real value of advanced date selection.

The Meaning of Prosperity
People often think prosperity means money or striking lottery.
Sometimes it does.
But not always.
Sometimes prosperity is simply having one more meal together as a family.
One more birthday.
One more conversation.
One more opportunity to see your grandchildren grow.
That is the original spirit behind Sheng Ji.
And for me, there is no greater satisfaction than knowing another family has been given more time together.
This is the work I dedicate myself to.
Not hearsay.
Not superstition.
Not exaggerated promises.
Just real Feng Shui, applied with proper methods, documented through real cases, and judged by real outcomes.
No magic.
Just principles that have stood the test of time.
