Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion or better known as Blue Mansion because of it’s very unique color of the building is located along Leith Street in Penang.
This mansion was built by one of the richest man at that time and was owned by Mr Cheong Fatt Tze also known as the Rockefella of the East.
There are many articles on the feng shui of this mansion and many masters likes to visit this place with their students. Indeed it was build with inputs from a feng shui master and likely a San He 三合 / Yang Gong 杨公风水 Master. This is evident from the Luopan that was left in the mansion.
Note: San He and Yang Gong name is synonymous.
This magnificent mansion was Sitting Qian 乾山 Facing Xun 巽向 with mountain behind while facing the sea. As a result, after staying in this mansion, the family descendants ended up having no money and sadly his legacy ended with Cheong Fatt Tze’s demise on 11 Sept 1916. WHY ? HOW COME ?….Wait read on first.
A Sad Failed Story Of This Magnificient Building
Seems it was feng Shuied and likey using San He / Yang Gong system from the luopan found in the Blue Mansion.
Indeed, the magnificent Blue Mansion fell into a state of despair after Cheong’s demise.
History of Blue Mansion
The construction of this mansion began in 1896 but Cheong was already very rich before this time and this is evident by these 2 statements:
1886 already establishing banks.
1892 he had a winery in China.
Clearly, his massive wealth was NOT a result of the Feng Shui of Blue Mansion.
The Fall Of His Empire
Cheong died in 1916 in Batavia due to Pneumonia. So what happened to his descendants after his death?
Clearly, from the numerous excerpts of write ups and historical records, his descendants did not do well and could not keep their father or grandfather’s grandest works, the Blue Mansion to the point it was sold in 1989 to outsiders. Is this the aim of good Feng Shui?
I would say the Feng Shui aspects of this Mansion has failed and did not last 9 generations as Cheong has hoped for.
Simple reason is, not all feng shui methods are same and works the same. There are plenty of theories out there and not all are really proven and workable. Sometimes if is about the practitioner themselves, how well they have mastered the skills.
Don’t feel that Feng Shui does not work. It is you have not found one that works.
