Feng Shui Of Bukit Bintang Malls
Bukit Bintang is a famous area in the heart of Kuala Lumpur primarily due to its commercial shopping or entertainment area back in the 70’s with its BB Park and so on. Of course this is also the “dark” area of KL.
Today, Bukit Bintang or fondly known as BB initials is home to many malls both new and old ones. Today I want to use this area to explain Feng Shui.
The Feng Shui that I will talking is probably not the one that you often hear. What you hear are new age system which is full of taboos and filled with superstition and unfounded cultural beliefs. The Feng Shui that I am talking of or the one that I am used to is related to Energy and only a handful of the practitioners are into this nowadays. From here on, I am referring to my practice of feng shui and not necessary what you know or heard in the past.
I would like to begin with this statement “ENERGY CREATES RESULTS” OR “ENERGY CREATES REALITY”.
This is a case study of the traffic for malls because traffic though do not necessarily reflects profitability directly, it does to some extent indicate popularity, earning potential of tenants and rental income for mall management or REITs.
This area has a mix of old to new malls, big ones to smaller ones. Some even have direct link to public transportation such as monorail, LRT or MRT. Yet, they all have varying results in terms of Traffic.
If you study the slide below, only one mall that does extremely well that is Pavilion KL that was built in 2007. It was built on the old plot of Bukit Bintang girls school. Even newer malls such as Exchange TRX (Aussie management) and Lalaport (Japanese) are not able to match the crowd and traffic of Pavilion KL.
Let me remind readers that Pavilion has no direct link to public transportation.
Perhaps each management will have their “reasons” or “excuses” as to why they are not able to match Pavilion KL, but like my mentor used to say, Results or Reasons? though both begins with the same letter R.
The Mall Feng Shui Factor
My very simple answer to this is, one of the constraining factor is Feng Shui. Feng Shui is geo magnetic energy and when it is out of alignment, it will only create poor results. Just like you believe in God, though you have never met or felt, smell or touched God, yet you will believe there is God. So if you could replace God with Energy, why would you brush off Feng Shui as fake and non existence?
Ok so you had a Feng Shui master before? Still, Feng Shui masters too has varying levels of skills. In Feng Shui world, fame don’t always reflect real ability. Let’s talk about this in greater detail in another blog post.
Pardon me, as I am not able to divulge all the weakness of the malls in this post as this are my trade secrets.
I am just using the RESULTS of the malls’ traffic in BB area to demonstrate to you the ENERGY that created this result that working in the background.
But one thing you can observe:
They may have done renovations, some may have the advantage of public transportation access, they may have the size or the international brands or luxury brands but yet nothing seems to work to improve traffic. Put it this way, their marketing department has done their utmost honest work. It is the unseen energy working in the background that is hurting traffic.
The results will for as long as it is or for the future it will be, shall not differ much. This is an indication that there is an unseen force behind acting upon efforts hindering positive results. This unseen force is Feng Shui. Think about it.
