Life is intriguing, sometimes i presents us a lot of questions but some questions you want an answer ahead of time so you may plan better. Here is a divination case of my personal experience.
Divination
Divination is an oracle or augury art used to ask question that we do not know the answer.
there are many forms of divination, some are spiritual in nature such as via medium or temple lot (chiam, 签), some using coins with turtle shell or now the more famous one is Qi Men Dun Jia 奇门遁甲.
But the method I use is Plum Blossom divination or 梅花易数, which I find it simple to learn and to apply but same time the effectiveness is very good. Let me demonstrate to you a real case or casting that I did recently.
The Divination Story – Visa Application Part 1
After the pandemic, many things have change and so it was for this process. After submitting my application, the results was not back after few days but same time there where no avenue for me to enquire but just have to patiently wait. I did a casting just using a book back in July 2025. I did a book casting and this is what I got.
Then you need to translate that casting results into the Yi Jing format for Plum Blossom divination. From the casting, here are the hexagrams that I have gotten.
There will always be 3 hexagrams for Plum Blossom method and we start from Initial > Mutual > Final in this order of progression. Each hexagram has their specific functions.
Initial Hexagram
from the casting it seems it will be approved and there is no need for concern.
Mutual Hexagram
Due to the upper hexagram is Xun 巽 gua, it seems it may be rejected due to documentation issues. This is a definite sign of obstacle. Oh dear.
Final Hexagram
The final hexagram seems to say that the result will be known on a Chen 辰 or latest on a Si 巳 day.
I am prepared for the worse and Plan B was already on the way after discussing with my customers.
Verdict
The email came in on the 22 July 2025 and was rejected on grounds of insufficient supporting documentation. 22nd was Ren Chen 壬辰 day!.
Plum blossom divination simple to cast and yet very powerful and accurate. No need for expansive software or calendar. Just a book! or anything that comes in handy. I will share many methods which you can use during class.
My customer asked me how did I know it will likely be rejected. I just said I did a casting.
